June 2020: GHC Regular Monthly Meeting - Racial Injustice, Policing, and Building a More Inclusive Community

June 26, 2020

GHC held its last regular monthly meeting before the summer break on Friday, June 26th. We hosted a panel discussion on racial injustice, policing, and building a more inclusive community. While we barely scratched the surface on this complex issue, it was an engaging first discussion thanks to our outstanding panelists and facilitator. We plan to continue working on this issue as one of our goals in our recently approved strategic plan. GHC Executive Director Jim Kercheval will be meeting with several people over the next few weeks to work on “next steps” for our organization and will let the membership know once plans are finalized. We extend our gratitude to GHC members Patrick Grach and Tereance Moore who helped put this program together. We also thank Hagerstown Police Chief Kifer, Washington County Sheriff Mullendore, Mr. Reggie Turner, and Pastor Mency for being on our panel. These are all strong leaders in our community that we are fortunate to have. You can view a recording of the meeting on our GHC YouTube channel.
