September 2020: GHC Regular Monthly Meeting - Vitality in City Centers, Part I

Our first meeting back after Summer break, Richard Griffin (Director of Econ. Development for the City of Frederick) provided insights into what our neighboring City is doing to attract over 2M visitors a year. Reggie Turner (Co-founder of the Western MD Community Development Commission) provided a brief update on the growing excitement around their historic preservation work in the Jonathan Street community. This presentation was the first of a two-part series about “Creating Vitality in City Centers” - one of four pillars of GHC’s Strategic plan and a major focus of ours in the coming year.
