August 2019: Michael G. Callas New Educator's Reception for Washington County

GHC, Washington County Chamber of Commerce and Washington County Public Schools partner to host this annual event and luncheon for the new educators in our community. This year 34 vendors were on hand to offer personal and professional services to approximately 140 new teachers. Local, state, and federal elected officials are invited to join the teachers for the reception, and GHC members are encouraged to attend and extend a welcome to teachers as well. After the event the teachers are awarded raffle drawing prizes for many of the services which are displayed by vendors at the event. It’s a great way to make our new educators feel welcomed by our community, and to show our appreciation for all they will do in the upcoming school year.
